WHAT DO I REALLY DO?
This is a question that I have been mulling over of late; What do I REALLY do?
I know all of the modalities that I do, NLP, Hypnosis, Time Line Therapy™, Hawaiian Huna and Ho’oponopono, PhotoReading™, EFT, DNA Theta Healing, Past Life Regression, OTH (Opening the Heart), Positive EFT, Archetypal Profiling, Soul Plan Readings, Future Life Progression, Angel Tarot Card Readings, and back in the day, Reiki.
Oh and course, then there is all of the corporate stuff; I am a Prince2 Project Manager, Management Consultant, Corporate Trainer, Change Management, and Workshop Facilitator.
So I know ‘what’ I do, or at least ‘how’ I create the magical transformations for my clients, but for me, the question still remained, what do I actually REALLY do, and when it comes down to it, what are all of the cool modalities and transformational tools all about?
The 7 Questions to help you discover your thing
With the power of hindsight and reflection, I have shared in this Blog post some of the key questions that you can ask yourself if this is a quest that you are also on. I have also included what I call my ‘Oprah Question’ which is an amazing way to get clarity on this issue. It took me over a decade to ‘get it’ and really understand the Oprah question, but I break it down for you later on in this Blog should you be ready to go there.
The answer, or at least an answer that satisfies me for now just came to me as a massive epiphany as I washed up some pots and pans this morning. I inspire people to actually get up and take action. I inspire people to be more of who they truly are and want to be. I inspire people to dare to dream and to take steps to make that a reality. I provide a dose of inspiration that moves you into inspired action.
I almost had a mini out of body experience, and I had this bird’s eye view of my work appear in my mind:
“Ah, so that is why I’ve felt almost compelled to create these 28-Day Programmes and ongoing Facebook Coaching Groups?!”
I guess the culmination of that approach first came together after a series of 3 recurring dreams after I’d read the book The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. The voice in my head at 3.30am literally said: “You need to create a Programme out of this” because I realised that for every person that read and was inspired by the book and took some action, a ton more would have had that same feeling of initial excitement and inspiration, yet their good intention s would most likely fall by the wayside as the demands of day to day life go in the way.
The impact of that first Magic & Gratitude Programme was nothing short of miraculous. I was recently speaking to one of the first participants, who, at the time of taking part by their own admission could barely get out of bed each day and had no sense of purpose or direction in their life. Within just the first 2 weeks of the Programme that had changed. Within a month of completing the Programme they had a brilliant business idea, within 6 months they had formed a collaboration that helped them bring that idea to life and I had attended their workshops, and within a year they were so busy that even I had to wait for an appointment to speak to them.
As we spoke last week I had to giggle as they relayed how busy they were with ‘all these clients, I just don’t know what to do Marilyn and how I fit them all in!”
Wow. So it worked. We took that book and moved it from fun and inspirational into real life bona fide action and results. And that is just one of the many life changing stories from the people who have taken part to date. It opens up again next month so I await with interest to see what new success stories are created.
And then then there was the 28-Day Limitless NeuroSuccess Brain Training Programme. I so loved the movie Limitless starring Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro that I created a whole 28-Day Programme around it to help people really bring those amazing concepts and ideas to life. Well actually, a Doctor and Trainee Neurosurgeon who attended my PhotoReading™ Accelerated Learning Workshop suggested that I watch the movie because I was doing so many things in my PhotoReading Class that were depicted as science fiction in the movie.
And then there is the 28-Day Money Breakthrough Programme, created because of my own past struggles with money. It is one of the biggest issues that faces many people, yet one of the most secretive and hidden, and one that carries a lot of shame and guilt if you’re not ‘good with’ money. Again, I wanted to inspire people into action around this issue and transforming how people think and feel about money.
And of course, one of the things that fuels my day and my life is synchronicity and intuition, so the 28-Day Intuition Supercharger is under construction, as is the 28-Day Relationship Breakthrough.
Wow. All of these things and Programmes and ideas just seemed like random acts at the time, me following my intuitive whim. The quote that I included in the Money Breakthrough Exercise today was one of my favourites from Steve Jobs, the Co-Creator and Founder of Apple. It reads:
“You can’t connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something – your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.” Steve Jobs, Entrepreneur and Inventor
I am now laughing at the irony of it all because the daily eCoaching Exercises that go out to the 28-Day eCoaching Programme participants are scheduled into MailChimp in advance, so what are the chances of me having this massive ‘join the dots’ epiphany moment today of all days, having completed that Money Breakthrough Exercise just a few short hours before?
One of my Facebook friends who contacted me after watching the Oprah and Pharrell Williams YouTube video that I created wrote this about me last night:
Linda Papciak “The message of your post combined with the revelation of your blog truly touched my heart, Marilyn. There is a sense of awakening unfolding on this planet that is divinely “on time” and is leading us all towards finally “remembering” what our souls have always known. Thank you for being at the forefront of this shift in conscious awareness, sweet soul. The gifts you are sharing with this planet resonate across time and space and inspire us all.” xoxo
Her message was also one of the catalysts for today’s epiphany. Linda said after I thanked her for her kind words:
Linda Papciak “Thank you for your kindness in sharing my message Marilyn and, of course, for inspiring.”
We had a great conversation thread on Facebook about that particular post, and following that, as I washed those dishes, that is when it hit me. It’s all about ‘Inspiring Into Action.’ If you would like to read the thread that started this click here
Why is inspired action so important?
How many of you have attended a great Workshop or training course and then after the euphoria wore off found yourself right back to square one, and action-less? Not only that, you now feel bad because you’ve got all of this great information, and were soooooo inspired in the room, yet somehow that has left you and the spark that gets you to take action outside of that environment hasn’t been ignited. You mean to get around to it, but life and other things just get in the way. And that is often not to do with the training or the environment, and more to do with human nature.
I guess what is different about my approach and what I do, is that even when I’m just jetting in to do a 2-hour segment on someone else’s Programme, in amongst the inspirational words is an energy transmission and several practical processes to help remove those mental and neurological blocks and barriers so that by the time people leave that training room they are not just fired up in that moment, the seed of change and catalyst for internal transformation has also been planted.
And that I guess brings me back to where it all started. The logo that I chose a decade and a half ago was a water drop, because I recognised even back that then that what I was doing was creating that catalyst for change, and that my clients and delegates would then find that other amazing and seemingly miraculous things would continue to ripple out from there in the days, weeks, months, and even years ahead.
Unravelling what you do – The 7 questions to help you uncover your thing
So what is it that you do?
A good way to being to bring it into conscious focus is to ask:
- As you look back over your work and career, and even your life, what is the theme or thread that runs throughout?
- What is the feedback that you hear about yourself most often? Feedback that comes so frequently that you might be inclined not to notice or that that you might accidentally put into the ‘well I’m sure everyone does that’ box.
- What are you most passionate about? And I don’t mean in the old cliché, live your passion and everything else will fall into place. What I mean here is what is it that you do so naturally that it makes your heart sing, and that you have such a knack for, that it seems like second nature. Almost a by-product of being around you.
- If you were to take those themes and threads and summarise them into half a dozen words, what would those words be?
- If you had to choose just one word that encapsulates all that you do, what would that word be? (I know how hard this can be for all the creative people out there, to try and distil, and reduce all that you do into such a tiny confined space. It doesn’t mean you have to live in that space, it is just useful for the process of getting more clarity if that is what you seek).
- What is it that when it happens it makes you beam and grin from ear to ear? For instance, when I’ve inspired someone to take action and do something that they have been putting off for years, or even their whole life, I have that beaming grin and warm feeling inside.
If you wanted to go straight towards homebase you might want to play with this one. I call it my ‘Oprah Question’ because it heard it some 25+ years ago on the Oprah Winfrey Show. I didn’t understand it at the time, however it stayed with me:
“What is the conversation, such that if you were to be walking by or in a crowded room you were to hear it, it would make you want to stop and contribute or join in?”
I didn’t know it at the time I heard it all those years ago as a Business Studies undergraduate, but that conversation for me is ‘transformation.’ And the bigger conversation is about showing people how they can transform their lives and mind set and thinking. And it seems that in addition to the energy transmission and belief change work that I do, the big piece, and the difference that makes all the difference, is inspiring people to take action.
Ah, thank you Facebook. Thank you unconscious mind. Thank you conscious mind, and thank you intuition for the continued inspiration and aha moments.
Now, back to getting the rest of these 28-Day support Programmes out into the world so that the action ripple effects continue!
