It was a fascinating evening and he is a real force of nature and I’m sure you will get from this short clip how much he has studied and researched this information.
I would love to hear what you know and believe about coconut oil because it’s been a real staple for me.
Oh golly I use coconut oil all the time when i stir fry or similar. I was told it was the healthiest option out of all the alternatives. So is he saying that once it’s heated/smokes it becomes carcinogenic? what do you use instead now? Thanks
Any oil becomes denatured if heated over its smoke point and creates free radicals.
This is a simple explanation of where it sits
Thanks 💜 interesting that extra virgin olive oil I used to use has a higher smoke point and has similar benefits to coconut oil and so was possibly s better choice…
I think people have gone way too gung ho on it, it’s a highly saturated fat and I know people who eat spoonfuls of it like it’s jam or something. I think we will see down the line it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. I’ll still use it but moderation in everything!
I think that it’s another marketing exercise. Somebody decided that coconut oil should be the next big thing. Like the gin craze. Always question
