  1. I think i terms of the Law of Attraction- if we don’t allow ourselves to feel joy and happiness and peace, even in the middle of all this, we are giving “The baddies” the power to make us fearful and the right to bully us.

  2. Cait Stringer Yes, absolutely. On the video I did on this subject yesterday I shared one of the quote from Albert Einstein that kept me sane during some particularly difficult times and it centred around exactly that. Mx

  3. I saw that, I loved it.
My son suffered from depression and and took his own life three years ago in his late 20’s, and lots of people commented on how “calm” and “dignified” I was at that time… and I wasn’t really, but I realised that NOTHING was going to change it or bring him back, ever. Looking for someone to blame or punish wouldn’t have helped. I’m not inhuman, I’m not a robot or cold hearted but I can’t see anything to be gained in struggling against it. Accepting “that it is” isn’t the same as liking it or wanting it, but there’s no point in trying to barricade the doors against it, it’s here and now…
I just allow myself to sit with it, have a cup of coffee, spend half an hour feeling it and then get on with my day.
I’m not very religious but I pick out a candle to represent “the universe/ God” and I give it all my “stuff” and I light it. The candle becomes a filing cabinet for all that and then I go and look at plants growing and birds nesting and realise I’ve only got another 50 years here, max, and I’ve done 50 already, so I just need to keep going.

Sorry, I’ve written you an essay! I was going to do the washing up but ended up here again … maybe the candle can have that as well 😀 x

  4. Cait Stringer Sorry to hear that. My condolences. And I do like a good essay! 😀
I used to volunteer at the Samaritans and saw both the struggling against it and the acceptance of it, both of which have their respective challenges.

I’ve actually got a full on cauldron which I use for such things!
